Barbara S. (Brown) Wilber

Barbara S. Wilber, 78, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at her home.  She was born in Knox County, Kentucky, to Murphy and Fredia (Syme) Brown on December 18, 1938 and had worked as an RN for Riverside Hospital from 1973 to 2000.  Barb was married to Kenneth Wilber and together they raised four children: Brent, Brian, Kendra “Sissy” and Barbara Jo. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working in her yard. Barb had beautiful flower beds with various rocks which she had collected throughout her travels. She cherished her time spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Brent (Fran) Wilber, Brian Wilber, Sissy Wilber and Barbara Jo Hunter; grandchildren, Samantha, Ashley, Ryann, Brooke, Brianna and Christopher; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers E. B. Brown and Ronald (Linda) Brown and sisters, Carol Cooke and Stacie (Robert) Robbins. Barb was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; granddaughter, Nikita Wilber; sisters, Lois Jackson and Flora Terrell and brothers, Denver and Fred Brown.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to the Ability Center of Greater Toledo.
