I am sorry for the family's loss. The passing of someone you love can be a very difficult thing to cope with. Please take comfort in the promise of the resurrection mentioned in the Bible at John 6:40.

He was so much more than a friend, so much more than someone who helped with work. He was God's Angel sent to bring the Word of God to so many of us as he came into our lives.
Gene became an important part of my mission in the Philippines. Like St Teresa he never left his home but worked tirelessly to send God's blessings to people he would never meet, would never even know their names or where they lived in the Philippines; nor would those who received the fruit of his kindness ever know who did all the work to receive, to pack up and to ship God's gifts to them.
I am sure Gene now rests with the God he so lovingly served in this life.

To the family and friends of Eugene Zapadka, I would like to express my deepest and heartfelt condolences. I am truly sorry for the lost that your family is feeling. When ever we lose such a such a caring and loving person, it is the hardest experience that any of us can go thru. And because of that my thoughts and prayers are with your family. During this extremely difficult time, please turn to God for comfort and support. He promise to give your family the strength needed in order to endure this great lost. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) Something else that can bring your family comfort is cherishing the wondering memories that you have of Eugene. These precious memories will console the family in the day's ahead.

Everyday I thank the Lord for this Godfather. He is an amazing mentor. My live has been blessed by him and will continue to be. I only hope to have the strong long standing marriage that my godparents shared. I believe God called him home during Lent on purpose. He truly showed many people what it means to be an example of the Christlike way we should lead our lives. I will see him again in time. Love Always!
