Our Sympathy to Aunt Janet, cousins, Mike, Kathy and family. You are in our prayers during this difficult time.
The first time I ever saw a Corvette was when Uncle Gerald pulled up in our driveway with one. He had quite a smile when he drove that thing. His favorite beer was Rolling rock and he always enjoyed a shooting a good game of pool. His house and cars were always clean and organized. He had a strong work ethic and was very proud of his children. He spoke often of their work accomplishments. We enjoyed many classic car shows with him, and with each new one, we will think of him again.
May we all keep his memory alive. God Bless you all.

In the 1950s I can remember making his favorite lunch; fried bologna sandwiches, tomato soup and potato chips with extra napkins. He would take his lunch bucket and smile with his eyes and be gone in a flash to LOF. He said on a good day, he could hand cut 4,000 windshields. He even became God Father to my daughters Eileen and Mary Margaret Wagner.
But one of my favorite memories, was being part of the early care of his son, and spending time with his wife, Janet. We were raising our families together when Gerald was busy serving on board the SS Antietam Aircraft Carrier. And when he finally returned safely, his wife, my husband, Cleason, and I were very, very happy for him.
Cleason once told me that he cared for Gerald in the early years because he was the youngest and had enough challenges in life; Asthma, loss of a father at age 14 and an absent mother because she worked, as well as absent siblings because they worked. Cleason tried to give Gerald a regular youth and even tutored him. The Cushman motor scooter was Gerald's favorite reward from Cleason. He was happy when he saw Gerald happy. And the scooter may have been instrumental to Gerald's interest in sports cars...this passion was even handed down to Gerald's son, Mike. Gerald was a good family man, a hard worker and always enjoyed a good car show. I'm sure Heaven has a great house and many classic cars waiting for him. With much love and many good memories.
