Hazel J Hartwig

            Hazel J. Hartwig, 84, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Genoa Care Center.  She was born on May 22, 1932 in Toledo to Hiram and Ivah Smith.  Hazel worked as a prep cook at the Bayshore Supper Club for 10 years.  She was an avid bingo player and worked at various bingo halls.  Hazel was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She will be dearly missed.

            Hazel is survived by her children, Daniel (Maria) Hartwig, Jeffery (Kim) Hartwig, Deborah (Gene) Malkemus and Douglas (Sam) Hartwig; 8 grandchildren and brother, Clarence.  Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; sister, Jessie and brothers, Buster and Harland.

A memorial gathering will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 1-3 p.m. where a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Alzheimer’s Association.  A special thanks to the staff at Genoa Care Center and Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
